It’s also likely that you’ll want to maintain the vibrancy of those beautiful colors and the softness of the yarn for as long as possible. To keep your ovely yarn looking its best for as long as possible the following care instructions will tell you how.

All About Washing

All yarn that is labeled “superwash” can indeed be washed in the washing machine. However, I highly recommend you instead hand wash your yarn in cold water and lay it flat to dry. If you’re in a time crunch, you can roll up the item in a towel to press out the water for faster dry times. Remember that HOt water will cause fading, so stick with that cold water. If needed you can block the item afterwards to put it back into its original shape.

Saying all that, machine washing is possible. If you want to go that route, make sure to select the gentle cycle and cold water. Not all washing machines are equal, so I can not guarantee that the item will come out of the washer in its original condition, which is why we recommend hand washing.

Wool items do not need to be washed frequently, so be sparing in your washings to keep them in their best condition possible.

Yes, It Bleeds!

Please make note of the following information:”All yarn bleeds, and hand-dyed yarn is especially prone to this. I take care to ensure that the dye sets well into the yarn during the dyeing process, and all skeins are washed afterwards to remove any remaining dye. Dark or color-rich yarns are particularly likely to bleed, as these colorways often retain excess dye even after the initial washing. If bleeding occurs, simply rinse the yarn gently in cool water.
